Our story begins in the southern Thai city of Nakhon Sri Thammarat, where Chef Penjan Janburiwong first learned the art of Thai cooking from her mother. From the age of 8, Penjan was in charge of cooking for her family of 9 and found her love for Thai cuisine.Driven by a passion to share the vibrant flavors of her childhood, Chef Penjan brought her family's cooking secrets to Massachusetts, founding Sugar & Spice with the goal of serving real, "Thai-Thai" meals.Now, with her daughter Amy Kridaratikorn at the helm, Sugar & Spice continues to honor its roots while evolving with our local community. Together, we are proud to bring you the same authentic dishes, made with the freshest ingredients and a deep respect for tradition.We take joy in watching our customers savor the taste of home and are honored to share a little piece of Thailand with you, right here in the heart of Cambridge!Whether you're dining in, enjoying takeout, or catering a special event, we invite you to join us on a culinary journey through Thailand!

Our Food
Our Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong components and a spicy edge. It is known for its complex interplay of at least three and up to four or five fundamental taste senses in each dish: sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and spicy — to achieve that elusive Thai taste. Aside from the many traditional Thai food offered, our menu has many unique Thai dishes created in our very own kitchen. At Sugar & Spice, our dishes are authentic yet deeply personal, making for an experience you won’t find any where else. There’s a Thai dish for every occasion when you order from Sugar & Spice! We are open everyday for dine-in in the heart of Porter Square. Outdoor seating is also available on our patio in the summer with fresh seasonal flowers!
